Coppell boys basketball has been setting up for the next round of districts. The Cowboys have had a losing streak of three games in a row. Coppell fights until the very end of the game, making sure all efforts on the court are at maximum potential. The cowboys commit to the win.
Coppell senior Ethan Macken sets the game straight with the first basket of the game. Lewisville is met with a challenge of intense offense from the cowboys. Coppell’s continuous drive to the hoop ends the first quarter with a score of 20-8.
The first quarter sets the tone for the rest of the game. With halftime just around the corner, both teams are motivated to move the ball down the court. The Farmers work to keep the cowboys behind, but the cowboys continue to push points and articulate rebounding work into the game to get the ball back into possession.
“We’ve had good practices with the guys, and tonight there were some opportunities to play with the scoreboard,” Coppell boys basketball’s head coach Ryan Murphy said. “The past games we lost to rebounding, we’ve been working on it a lot since then.”
The clock runs out during the fourth quarter, and the Cowboys have made a relentless effort to seal their win against the Farmers. After a few games with unsuccessful results, the Cowboys have made up for it with a 44 point differential with a final score of 95-51.
