
The CHS Arena erupts with approval when Coppell senior guard Isiah Fleming gained an upper hand by scoring a 3-pointer three times with less than one minute left on the clock. The momentum to beat Flower Mound Marcus, 76-69, on Feb. 10 at CHS Arena.
“Earlier on there were some times where we failed making that extra pass,” Coppell coach Ryan Murphy said.“Lately I feel like they have been trusting each other more and when they play with a lot of chemistry it is really fun to watch.”
During the first quarter, Coppell senior Sibu Socks scored the first 3-pointer of the game along with Fleming making consecutive two-pointers six minutes into the quarter.

As halftime neared, Coppell senior guard Levi Owira and Coppell sophomore guard Jacob Anene both scored points off of free throws allowing the Cowboys to have the upper hand by 30-27.
“The biggest improvement is defensive intensity and the energy we play with,” Murphy said.“We have played a lot harder as we go through districts.”
Murphy was faced with rising foul trouble that threatened to disrupt his team’s rhythm, he was forced to make a series of substitutions to protect his key players.
“Our efforts are not only shown in wins but defensively we have been able to really pressure the ball,” Murphy said. “We are able to push a lot of turn overs.”
The game gets heated during the 4-quarter Marcus gains momentum. Coppell senior Colin Griffin, with a minute left on the clock, dunks at full speed making the crowd go wild.
The ending score was 76-69 giving the Cowboys a strong win so they can begin to prepare for their last game before playoffs.
“Our transition has been great all year I feel like,” Murphy said.“ As our energy and our effort has gotten better we have been able to get into transition more often.”
