On Friday, Coppell tennis fell short to Frisco Lebanon Trail, 11-9, at the Coppell Tennis Center.
Coppell junior Lexie Patton and freshman Palkin Gangwal won their doubles match against Frisco Lebanon Trail’s senior Addison Rosser and junior Maika Wendt, 6-7, 7-6 and 10-4. In singles, Patton won, 6-0, 6-0, against Rosser.
“I’ve been working out a lot trying to get strength in myself for crucial moments and matches,” Patton said. “Today it helped as I felt much more in control of the point compared to [Rosser], allowing me to win.”
After a year since the last match against Lebanon Trail, in practice Coppell focused on doubles dynamics and preparing for a high amount of competition.
“We’ve been working on getting as many reps in as we can and on a lot of double strategy with our last few matches against highly competitive teams,” coach Alyssa Noonan said.
Coppell plays at Flower Mound on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
“Coppell played great today. We fell short in a couple of matches that ultimately made us lose, but I felt like the fight was there and everyone really wanted to win,” Patton said.
