  • On Tuesday, the Coppell City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers at Town Center.
  • On Wednesday, Coppell Middle School West hosts an information session for the upcoming voter approved tax rate election at 5:30 p.m..
  • The Coppell Chamber of Commerce hosts a Coppell Growth Group meeting Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at JC’s Burger Bar.
  • On Thursday, Coppell High School hosts the Annual Coppell ISD Post-High School Fair from 6-8 p.m..
  • On Thursday, the 31st Annual Coppell Chamber Golf Classic starts at 8 a.m. at Grapevine Golf Course.

Coppell ISD is facing budgetary issues in response to insufficient state funding. To generate revenue, the district has been encouraging community involvement through the proposition of the Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE) and discussions of school consolidations.

Minori Kunte is a senior and the art editor and staff cartoonist for The Sidekick. She spends her time singing for the Madrigals and A Capella. In her free time outside of school, she enjoys painting scenic locations she’s spotted and making vlogs of her vacations for herself and her family to watch. Her favorite movie of all time is The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. She enjoys watching Anne With An E and The 100, while snacking on Brookside Acai Dark Chocolate and Skinny Pop.
