Seniors spend a day in the park

The Senior Picnic marks just one of the many bonuses that Coppell High School seniors can redeem. Doubling as a fundraiser for the class in addition to a way for students to blow of first-semester steam, the picnic will take place tomorrow, October 21st, during fourth period.

Since it is a SPUR schedule day, seniors are required to go to their fourth period classes to attend this, and then may leave for the picnic once it is complete. The picnic will be taking place at the Andy Brown Park right across from school, and students are instructed to walk across as driving there is not permitted. Music and games will be provided for the students by the park.

In order to go to the picnic, seniors needed to have bought the $5 tickets during lunches. The “ticket” is a wristband with the student’s name on it, which is necessary to enter the park, and a receipt if the ticket is lost. This ticket ensures the student of a box lunch, consisting of a sandwich, bottled water, chips and a cookie, all courtesy of Market Street.

In the case that there may be adverse weather, the picnic will be moved to the following Friday, October 29, but as of right now the plans seem to be sure-fire. Seniors are instructed to inform their fourth period teachers of the fact that they will be gone, and while they will not be marked as absent from class they are still responsible for making up any work that they will have missed.
