Coming off a stellar 2021 season, finishing its season off in the Class 6A Regional Semifinals, the Coppell boys baseball team returns at the ready.

Today, the Cowboys host Lake Highlands in its first home game of the season, first pitch at 4 p.m., at the Coppell ISD Baseball/Softball Complex.

Today’s game is a scrimmage, meaning results will not affect the Cowboys’ overall record.

This game marks the first time the Cowboys will play at the newly renovated CISD Baseball/Softball complex.

“This will be our first game on the new turf,” senior pitcher Landry Fee said. “The field was newly renovated, so we’re all excited about playing there.”

Leading up to today’s game, the Cowboys have played three scrimmages.

“We’re going to focus on keeping the game simple,” junior pitcher Bryan Raitz said.
