After several cancellations due to COVID-19 and winter weather, the Coppell girls soccer team plays Plano West on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Buddy Echols Field.

Coppell has been focusing on techniques to possess control on the field to counter Plano West’s technical players.

“We know that Plano West has some very technical players in the midfield so we are preparing for that and making sure we are not giving them tons of space and not diving in as well,” Coppell senior midfielder Maya Ozymy said. “We always look to play our style of soccer and make the other team adjust to us. We always look to keep possession, switch the point of attack and then attack with numbers in the box.”

Coppell plays this afternoon at Plano before returning to the pitch tomorrow night against Plano West.

“I fully believe that every single team in our district this year is a tough opponent,” Ozymy said. “I believe we have the hardest district schedule in the state so we have to prepare for every game at the highest level possible.”
