Though social media provides an outlet for people to air their grievances, many times their feelings will be invalidated by others who claim they should be grateful that they are not in a worse situation. NOVID is an app developed by Carnegie Mellon University associate professor of mathematics Dr. Po-Shen Loh and was pitched to Coppell ISD in August. The mobile app uses ultrasound, WiFi and bluetooth sensors to build a network of users’ interactions and provide a radar for the movement of COVID-19.
