For the 2020-21 school year, Coppell ISD has 34 National Merit Semifinalists, 33 of which are from Coppell High School. Selection as a National Merit Semifinalist is based on the students’ scores on the 2019 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Qualifying Test. National Merit Semifinalists represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors.

These seniors will have the opportunity to continue in the program and possibly receive scholarships, which will be offered next spring to National Merit Finalists.
