Following losses to Flower Mound and Marcus, the Cowgirls host Plano East tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. in the CHS Arena in District 6-6A play.

“I’m excited for us to have another chance to face another good team,” Coppell junior middle blocker/right side hitter Haley Holz said. “We have gotten better each game so it should be good.”

Despite the 0-2 start in district, the Cowgirls think their communication as a team has improved.

Focusing more on ways to improve after losses rather than dwelling on them has assisted Coppell in moving forward. Taking from their inability to close in last week’s matches, the team has made necessary adjustments to ensure those mistakes do not happen against Plano East.

“We’ve worked really hard to [improve] after each game [and] see our weaknesses and we work really hard practicing on focusing on how we were able to close in the last game and how we can fix it,” Holz said. “And that’s helped us to have less weaknesses over time and it’s given us a chance to see where we struggle and given us a chance to also help each other out and come together as a team [and] grow on the court together.”
