Softball team return to action against Lebanon Trail

The Cowgirls play Frisco Lebanon Trail tonight at the Coppell ISD Softball Complex at 7 p.m.
“I expect my team to come out with a lot of energy, make few errors and set a precedence early on in the game,” Coppell junior catcher Dafne Mercado said.
The Cowgirls are 3-1 with their only loss being a 5-4 defeat to Prosper on Feb. 7. According to Mercado, since the game against Prosper, the team has focused on improving pitching and base running.
“Looking back at past seasons, Lebanon Trail is definitely good competition for my team and I,” Mercado said. “Winning would prove how good the Cowgirls are and will show us our hard work has been paying off.”
