DECA held their first meeting Thursday morning at 7:50 in C217, Ms. LeBlanc’s room. The club of approximately 95 students from last year have increased to an estimated 150.
CHS DECA has set a tentative schedule of events including a Dallas Stars DECA Career Dayand a Dallas Mavs DECA Day this semester and district, state and international competitions in 2010.
DECA, Distributive Education Clubs of America (known as Delta Epsilon Chi in college), was established over 60 years ago and operates in over 4000 high schools internationally.
Membership is open to any students with the slighest interest in marketing, management, hospitality, finance, entrepreneurship or business management.
The program helps students develop skills for marketing-careers and business leadership by providing opportunites to participate in competitions and through exposure to the real business surroundings.
