After a victory against Nimitz last Friday, the Coppell girls basketball team plays Irving MacArthur tonight at 8 p.m. in the CHS Arena.

The Cowgirls defeated the Vikings, 79-38, to improve to 3-5 in District 6-6A. First-place MacArthur defeated Coppell, 42-33, on Dec. 13.

Coppell is eager for the challenge.

“We’re all really excited because last time we played them, we lost by only [nine points],” Coppell junior guard Emma Sherrer said. “This game [against Nimitz] was good practice because we were running through our offense [and] practicing our defense. It was definitely good for the team and prepared us to be strong for the next game.”
