As seniors are finalizing their college picks, the classes of 2011 and 2012 are preparing for college admissions, and there’s a new event made available to the students at Coppell High School that will greatly assist them in their search for their future school: CollegeWeekLive.
In an attempt to facilitate the process of college admissions, CollegeWeekLive, the largest online college fair, has organized a virtual site where students, parents and counselors can connect with colleges. Students and parents interested in this event can register for free online to chat live with admissions officers from over 300 colleges across the globe.
Unlike actual college nights, CollegeWeekLive spans the entirety of a day and allows people to come and go as they wish from their homes and offices. The spring fair was held on March 24-25 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. During this period, individuals were able watch live presentations from admissions experts, visit virtual booths for colleges, interact with admissions officers in an interactive Q&A session and video chat with current college students to gain insight on campus life and the admissions process.
There are also live presentations covering the ACT, PSAT, scholarships, trends in 2010 college admissions, technology essentials for college, college essays and the common application.
CollegeWeekLive is held completely online several times a year; upcoming events include Texas day, where students can meet with over 20 schools in Texas, a text chat with the University of Alabama and virtual open houses with several universities in California. The next major date is the CollegeWeekLive fall event on November 3-4.
