On Feb. 14, the winners for the Coppell Gifted Association‘s MOSAIC Creative Writing Competiton were named. Categories included ficiton, non-ficiton, poetry, graphic novel and comic and was open to students from K-12 in CISD. Out of over 200 entries, a panel of ten judges from across the district (including Coppell High School Creative Writing teacher Matthew Bowden) selected the top entries to be published in a book for contestants to buy.
The winners and honorable mentions will be honored at a book signing on April 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the lecture hall. First-place winners will read an excerpt from their winning piece and contestants will be offering their signature to all who attend.
Needless to say, Coppell is one creative communnity. Congratulations to all!
