During the HOSA Area Competition at Denton Ryan High School on Jan. 15-16, several students were awarded.
In April, six competitors will advance to the state competition. Seniors Drew Hasson, Kevin Garza and Sharon Mathai participated as a team and placed third in Creative Problem Solving. Junior Sydney Kapp and senior Jayla Moore were recognized for their scores on the Kaiser Permanente Healthcare Issues exam.
In addition, seniors Suwetha Amsavelu, Shaylee Zaugg and Sowmya Kalathuru placed fifth and fourth respectively. Amsavelu and Zaugg competed as a team in Forensic Science and Kalathuru competed in Biotechnology.
