On Dec. 15, kindergarteners and first graders from Cottonwood Creek Elementary will come to Coppell High School and engage in the timeless ritual of writing letters to Santa.
High schoolers of all grades are going to have the opportunity to unleash their inner child through helping the elementary schoolers in writing out their wishes for the year. This event will happen in the second period English classes of Sam Neal, Kim Thibodeaux, Bill Visco, Amy Wilkinson, Malloy Butler, Kim Pearce, Amelia Antillon and Matt Bowden.
“[The kindergarteners] like coming to the high school to see where the big people go,” CHS English department chair Linda Moore said. “It also gives them a sense of these kids are connected to me. We’re part of a bigger group.”
This event has been happening for a long time, and it doesn’t seem like it’s going to go away anytime soon.
“It has been going on even before I became department chair 20 years ago,” Moore said.
Not only will the little ones be writing their lists, but they will also have the chance to color and eat some holiday treats.
