Last year, the Coppell Cowgirls soccer team won the 6A State Championship. This year, the expectations are just as high.
For the winter season, the Cowgirls are ranked 5th in the nation and 2nd in the state by Top Top Drawer Soccer.
The Cowgirls, led by new coach Ryan Dunlevy, has many returning starters and a powerful group of underclassmen, including junior defender and Auburn commit Sarah Houchin, junior goalkeeper and Clemson commit Maddie Weber and sophomore and Kansas commit Italia Bradley.
Rival Southlake Carroll is ranked first in the nation and state, who Coppell had a 2-0-1 record against last year, defeating them in the regional final.
