The weather is cooling down, leaves are shifting from green to orange and red – sweaters and jeans are being dug out from the back of the closet – it must be fall.
Whether outside embracing the cooler weather, or indoors sipping hot chocolate by the fire, fall allows for numerous amounts of activities, indoors and outdoors. The activities listed below are some of the top things you should do to make the best of this dwindling season.
Diving in
A quick, fun activity that involves no money or equipment, is jumping in a pile of leaves. Creating a pile of leaves is a fun and vigorous activity that allows people to exercise and is really fun when the pile is enormous. This activity can be done over and over again and is located just outside your backyard or front lawn.
Along for the ride
As winter approaches, activity outside becomes stagnant. Going out for a bike ride is a great form of exercise allowing one to feel the wind on their face and is a great way of traveling to places. Bike trails are located in almost every park and allow people to appreciate nature. Some bike trails include the Coppell Nature Park trail and the Andrew Brown Park East.
Picnic time
Setting up a picnic in an open field with nature surrounding you may seem cliché, this is a great way to enjoy the cool weather of fall. Going on picnics, not just on a date, but also with family or friends, is a great way to enjoy nature and have a meal outside. Patches of land at Andy Brown Park in Coppell, or any park located near where you live, is the perfect place to set up a picnic.
Lost in the corn maze
A corn maze is a fun way to not only enjoy the cooler weather, but to test your mental and physical agility. Searching for way out of the maze can be frustrating, but is very enjoyable. Some corn mazes are very elaborate like the Texas A&M Corn Maze, but there are simpler ones such as the Hall’s Corn Maze.
Hay, let’s go on a ride
A traditional hayride pulled by horses can really bring out the kid in people. It is a sweet and short yet a great way to get around. The slow ride allows people to observe their surroundings of colorful leaves and enjoy a warm cup of hot chocolate as they ride. There are various rides located in Coppell, such as Pleasures Past Carriages.
S’mores and more
As the nights get chillier, one way to warm is by creating a small bonfire outside, or in your fireplace. Friends and family can gather around the fire and share scary stories while eating delicious treats.
