The world of art and story truly is magical. You can create or conjure up anything. There are no limitations when it comes to creativity, especially in the realm of children and teen literature and art.
On Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., the North Texas chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators c(SCBWI) will be holding The Magical World of Art and Story at event1013 in Plano.
The SCBWI is a non-profit organization aiming to globally support the creation and availability of children and teen books. The Magical World of Art and Story is a showcase of more than 35 North Texas children and teen authors and illustrators, including Coppell’s very own children’s author, Jennifer Cole Judd.
Attendees will get the opportunity to meet authors and illustrators, as well as partake in Q&As, book presentations and informative panels. There will also be a bookstore on site where you can purchase attending authors books and illustrators artwork.
Through The Magical World of Art and Story showcase, the SCBWI hopes to connect writers, educators, librarians and lovers of children and teen literature in order to promote creativity through art and writing.
No matter who you are, whether an art enthusiast or bibliophile, The Magical World of Art and Story is free and open to all community members. For more information and to register for the event click here.
