For about a decade, the Coppell Parks and Recreation Department has offered a fun, engaging camp for kids. But even after all those years, Camp Do-It-All is just as popular as ever, and spots for this summer are filling up fast.
The all-day camp at Denton Creek Elementary, located at 250 Natches Trace, starts on June 8 and continues for 11 weeks until August 21. To accommodate working parents, it runs each day from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Week by week, parents can pick when their child attends, including day drop ins.
Kids six to 12 years old will be provided with many activities at the elementary school, including outdoor and indoor sports, swimming and arts and crafts.
However, administrative support supervisor Cecillia Gandara finds that kids tend to enjoy something more than any of those activities.
“We do a lot of field trips,” Gandara said. “We have small field trips, they’ll go rollerskating or to the movies, or something small like that where they’ll be gone for two hours to three hours, then we have big field trips where they’ll be gone most of the day.”
Bigger field trips include visits to Fort Worth Zoo, museum tours and more.
An Information Form, Medicine Form and Epi-Pen Form will need to be submitted on a child’s first day of camp. They can be accessed along with more information regarding scholarships and itinerary at http://www.coppelltx.gov/camp-do-it-all.html.
