Earlier this week, Coppell High School Principal Mike Jasso emailed parents and students detailing the new construction changes to come into effect in early November. These changes will mainly affect student drivers.
The student parking lot will undergo an array of physical changes this upcoming month. Due to needed expanded construction space, the parking spots located near the construction and the stadium, that was reserved for seniors, will be blocked off.
Now, seniors can park on the right side of the teacher parking area near the band hall and in the former general parking that was used for junior and sophomore drivers.
General parking will now be located near the tennis center and behind the stadium, which was previously reserved for the marching band. Walkways will be made for those parking in these areas and are students are highly encouraged to utilize the safe pathways.
Staff parking will remain in the same place, as will the bus loop, located near the horseshoe, and parent loop on the west side of the school near the field house. Parents are reminded to use the parent loop instead of dropping their students off in the student parking lot in order to ensure maximum safety.
With construction expanding, Jasso ensures the process will be as safe as possible, with every construction worker wearing identification at all times and being required to undergo criminal background checks before working on the expanded arena construction site. CHS administrators will also be present before and after school to monitor traffic flow.
Information about the continued construction at CHS can be found here.
