The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is looking for a few good men. That’s why they found Coppell senior defensive end Solomon Thomas.
On Friday, Thomas, standing humbly at the podium in the CHS fieldhouse, proudly accepted an invitation to play in the 2014 U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 4 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
Thomas, with his parents and coach Joe McBride at his side, thanked the crowd of teammates, coaches, friends, administrators and teachers. Thomas is among the nation’s top 90 high school football players who have the opportunity to play in this game.
“It’s like yesterday, I was dreaming of it as a kid, asking my my dad, if I would ever make it,” said Thomas, sporting a yellow U.S. Army All-American Bowl jersey. “Receiving this award, means so much to me, its truly a blessing.”
The U.S. Army All American Bowl game celebrates high school students who have done well on the football field, in the classrooms and throughout the community. This game has helped launch the spectacular careers of Andrew Luck, Adrian Peterson, and several other NFL stars.
