In light of the recent tragedy in Moore, Okla. and the severe weather that blew through North Texas yesterday afternoon, Coppell ISD wants to be sure all students and parents within the district understand the emergency measures that are in place.
As per the law, each campus has an emergency preparedness plan and regularly holds drills. Whenever severe weather is on the radar, emails and phone calls are sent out to every household in Coppell, and emergency alerts are posted on the CISD website as well as on official Twitter and Facebook pages. The Coppell ISD app is also updated for those who have smartphones.
The district would also like it to be known that parents cannot pick up their children during an emergency situation (lockdown or shelter drill).
