This week, Texas Commissioner of Education Michael Williams announced that all State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) will be released by August. Although the Texas Education Code and State Board of Education rule states that standardized tests only have to be released every three years, Williams wants critics of the test to be able to see it as soon as possible.
Sample questions and scoring guides for STAAR are already available. Only general assessments will be made available this summer; modified tests will be released in 2014, as dictated by the schedule.
