Until April 26, National Honor Society is putting on a canned food drive in order to prepare for the summer months. Usually, the can food drive talks place during the first semester, but sponsor Kevin Casey and food pantry director Ron Poole decided to move the drive to this April in order to benefit those who rely on the school lunch program that is not available during the summer.
It is recommended that participants donate dry pasta, dry milk, canned meat, canned vegetables, pasta sauce, cereal, peanut butter, canned fruit and dry snacks such as granola bars. Donations can be dropped off before or after school in Mr. Casey’s room, B214.
For NHS members, no form is needed to record service hours earned for your donations. You only have to sign in you cans when you drop them off. Five food items translate to one NHS hour, and a maximum of two hours can be earned. You do not have to be in NHS to donate.
