Easter is one of the most important events of the year for any church, but this year GracePoint Church (formerly First Baptist Church Coppell) is taking extra steps to ensure that they are offering the most exciting and enriching Easter experience possible – for members and guests alike.
GracePoint has organized a series of special Easter Week opportunities from Palm Sunday (March 24) to Easter Sunday (March 31), featuring guest speakers, kids’ activities and more. All of these events will be united under the theme “The Beautiful Mess”, which addresses the universal truth that although many things in life can be messy (from money to relationships to parenting), God can use it and transform it into something beautiful.
“Come this Easter week, it’s our invitation to you,” Pastor Clayton Coates said. “It doesn’t matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done. The fact of the matter is that God has cleaned up my life and I want him to clean up yours as well. It’s going to be an incredible week!”
GracePoint’s Easter week commences with an eye-opening presentation from a trial attorney on the “Trial of Christ” following the 9:30 Palm Sunday service. The week continues with a three-night special event on Wednesday (March 27), Thursday (March 28) and Friday (March 29). Each night will begin at 7:00 p.m. and feature a different guest speaker with a different focus topic.
Wednesday’s topic will be “Life is Messy: Parents & Teens”, featuring well-known pastor and youth communicator Von Minor. Thursday’s topic will be “Money is Messy: Finance & Time”, featuring Saddleback Church pastor Chris Goulard. Finally, Friday’s topic will be “Relationships are Messy: Friends & Marriage”, featuring Love Notes author Ryan Dalgliesh.
For those with children, the three-night special event also includes activities for kids, including professional magicians, jugglers and ventriloquists. Each of these events will be fun, informative and inspirational for the entire family.
This week of spiritual restoration culminates with Easter Sunday itself on March 31. Pastor Coates’ sermon on “The Beautiful Mess” will tie the whole week together in an uplifting way. An additional 11:30 service will be provided in addition to the usual 9:30 service, with an Easter Egg Hunt for children at 11:00.
No matter who you are and no matter how messy your life is, GracePoint hopes to impress upon Coppell that God can use you for something beautiful.
