Coppell High School’s KCBY is filled with future Hollywood director hopefuls. Under the direction of KCBY teacher Irma Kennedy, KCBY will be flying to Los Angeles this afternoon to attend the annual Student Television Network, or STN, conference. Each year, STN attracts high school broadcast networks from across the nation to compete and show off their best work.
Not only will the KCBY students show off the weekly shows they have worked all year to create, they will attend seminars and produce original videos while in Los Angeles to enter to competition. In the past, KCBY’s entries have been very successful, landing them in the top three short films multiple times.
KCBY students will miss the last two periods of Wednesday, along with all day Thursday and Friday. During this time, the students will be soaking up the sun, learning, and working hard. The students will be busy, but will have unlimited opportunities to grow in the art of film, the activity they love.
