Have you noticed senior students walking around campus in a red jacket? You might remember them leading your eighth grade tour before your freshmen year at CHS or seen them at school events. These are the Red Jackets– “the face of Coppell.”
Junior students who want to take an active leadership role and see themselves as a Red Jacket have until noon this Friday, Feb. 8 to access the online application, which is due Feb. 21 to A102 by 4 p.m.
The application is extensive, so students should begin as soon as possible. The portfolio requires several recommendation letters and most teachers will have a cap-off how many letters they will write.
Your portfolio must include:
- Application
- Cover letter
- Resume
- Questionnaire
- Recommendation from a CISD employee
- Recommendation from an adult that is a representative of the Coppell community
- GPA verification sheet signed by your CHS counselor
- Attendance and good standing verification sheet signed by your CHS assistant principal
The Red Jackets application is highly competetive and there is generally a large initial pool of applicants, which are selected through a series of interviews. Students must have a minimum GPA of 4.7, adequate attendance, outstanding behavior, and an exceptional ability to communicate.
If you see yourself in Red, make sure to begin your application portfolio by noon this Friday.
