Coming into a school of 3,000 can be a pretty daunting thing for most freshmen, but they have one person in their side of Coppell High School that can make the transition just a little bit easier – Elizabeth Adkins.
Adkins is the ninth grade counselor and assistant principal’s secretary, helping in assisting the freshman counselors and freshman students in whatever they may need. Her office is located in the freshman office in the “freshman center,” located in D and E halls. Though the job seems small to some, she is known around the campus for her positive attitude and outgoing personality.
“Mrs. Adkins is just that friendly smile you sometimes need to see during the day,” senior Lexie Davidson said. “It doesn’t matter if you are a freshman or a senior. She is just as kind and happy to everyone her at Coppell High School.”
Adkins is also the mother of two kids who have gone or are currently going through the Coppell school system. Her daughter, Lesli Adkins (18), is a freshman at Texas Christian University and was a CHS cheerleader. Her son, Chris Adkins (16), is a current junior at CHS and defensive back for the Coppell Cowboys football team.
