Some older boys in class are bullying a child; the other students watch. They know it is wrong but none of them step up in his defense. This child needs The Protectors, an organization founded in 2005 by Paul Coughlin.
This program provides personal experience and helps people to understand the weakness in some anti-bullying programs. Coughlin focuses on helping the children who bully, as well as confidence training for the kids bullied and inspires children to have more positive directions in life.
Coughlin will be coming to Coppell for an event in the CHS auditorium. The event, Bullying and the Bystander-Father/Son Event, takes place Feb. 11 from 6:30 to 8:30. This event provides families and students with an opportunity to learn about strength, heroic desire and the rescuing capacity of the bystanders.
