After their overtime win over the Phoenix Coyotes, the Kings have advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since the Gretzky era.
The Kings, who are the eight seed in the west, have truly shocked me and the rest of the hockey world with their performance thus far in the playoffs, proving they deserve to be where they are today. The unfortunate part of their playoff run, is they “stole” the eight hole from the Stars, my personal favorite team. This could be the Stars, and I believe that had the Stars been in the eight hole, they could have made quite a run themselves. The Kings, playing a combination of speed and skill offense, and intense and physical defense, have been a juggernaut, losing only two games so far in these playoffs. They have shown us they can win the whole thing, and I believe that no matter which team they face, they will win Lord Stanley’s Cup.
