At the beginning of this school year, I promised a year full of timely news, in-depth reports and award-winning photography, and I am happy to say that this year’s Sidekick staff delivered on this promise.

We started off this year revamping our website and print editions, and the talents of each individual reporter, photographer, editor, webmaster and business saleswoman contributed to the continuing growth of our product. Coppellstudentmedia.com was one of fifteen websites nominated in the country for the Pacemaker award. We received 2nd place Best in Show at the JEA/NSPEA conference in Seattle, and we were named Best Newspaper for the second year in a row at the Dallas Morning News annual High School Journalism Day.

After a year of accolades and recognition, we are more determined than ever to continue to raise the bar. To our readers: I promise you another year of quality products. For all graduating seniors, talk to a Sidekick staff member about purchasing a subscription to our print product ($15 for the year), and continue to check our website for frequent posts and interactive media.
