On Thursday, the Coppell Cowboys travel to Flower Mound for the first game in the best-of-three series. The game is at 7:30.
Game 2 of the series is at Coppell at 7:30 on Friday, and Game 3, if necessary, will be on Saturday at Grapevine (a neutral site).
Coppell was 19-11 overall this season, 10-4 in district. Flower Mound was 24-8 overall, 11-4 in district.
Flower Mound infielder Andrew Vinson is second in the area in batting average, hitting .465 this season. He also had 16 stolen bases over the season. Meanwhile, Coppell’s first baseman, junior Jackson Cramer, is tied for second in the area with six home runs.
It will be interesting to see how these area-leading sluggers will face each other in the playoffs.
