Today the CHS Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) club will be calling attention to the bullying of LGBT youth in America’s schools by participating in the Day of Silence.
Several CHS students have decided to be silent all day to protest the silence forced on LGBT kids who are abused in school and feel alone. This day is part of a national movement, which according to their website also has participants in 60 other countries, as well as students from all 50 states in the U.S. The Day of Silence website invites its participants to take part however they wish: by not talking at all, only talking for part of the day or raising their voices to spread the awareness against the bullying and harassment of LGBT students.
