It has been over 10 years since the horrible September day when terrorists crashed two American Airlines planes into both of the Twin Towers in New York. Americans and the city of New York are rebuilding in a spectacular way.
Recently, Freedom Tower began construction close to where the Twin Towers use to stand tall. Freedom Tower hit the milestone of 100 floors this week. This is a big step in the rebuilding process after 9/11.
If the construction continues at the current rate, Freedom Tower will be surpass the Empire State Building and become the tallest building in New York City. The tower is projected to be 104 stories tallby completion in 2013.
World Trade Center building number four, which neighbors Freedom Tower and is also being reconstructed, will top out at 72 floors.
