Underclassmen campaign

By Madison Ford

Entertainment Editor

Be on the lookout for campaign slogans and eye-catching posters for the next two weeks as underclassmen begin their bids for class officers. Current freshman, sophomore, and junior students with an interest in taking a leadership position for their class must campaign for their peers’ votes in preparation for voting day.

While these campaigns may not be as heated as the current race for the GOP nomination is, officer election certainly have their share of intrigue as many qualified students make their case for why they should represent their class.

Class officers hold many responsibilities, however, their most notable role is to raise money for their class. These funds, which are attained through various fundraisers over the class’ four years in high school, are eventually used for class activities senior year, such as prom. Leftover funds are used to purchase a class gift for the school.
