Both today and tomorrow, the Coppell High School AP Art History students will be taking a day trip to the Dallas Museum of Art. On this trip, the AP Art History students will be getting a chance to witness art firsthand, as opposed to researching it in a textbook or hearing about it in a class lecture.
Over 100 students are enrolled in Art History, that it only made sense to divide the massive group into two smaller groups, one that will go on Tuesday and the other on Wednesday.
Mrs. Winters, the AP Art History teacher, feels confident that this is a worthwhile experience that will make an impact on the way students look at art. By being in the presence of such famous and historically significant works of art, the students will be able to make explicit observations of what they see, something that is very important when it comes to studying art in general.
After several hours at the Dallas Museum of Art, the students will head over to Northpark Mall for lunch and to take in what the day has held.
