A patrol car driving through the intersection of Interstate 635 and Royal Lane in Coppell was involved in a wreck this morning, as reported by WFAA.
The officer in the car was off-duty when another car slammed into his in a construction zone. The driver of the other car rear-ended the patrol car.
The officer claimed to have back pain after the crash and was taken to the Grapevine Medical Center.
The driver who rear-ended the police car was said to be uninjured.
The crash is a reminder for students and parents to drive safely and always look for parked cars, pedestrians or oncoming traffic while driving to work, school or home.
