On Wed, Oct. 21, the Spanish Club held its first meeting in the morning in D213, and afternoon in the small commons.
President Marco Arce talked about upcoming activities. On Nov. 5, the club will celebrate Día de los Muertos festivities after school in the lecture hall. The event is free and open to anyone.
Arce also discussed the upcoming Cinco de Mayo celebration to be held tentatively on May 1, 2010. The club aims to host a city-wide celebration of the Mexican independence day. Though thep lan is still in the works, Arce hopes to make it a success.
Correction: Cinco de Mayo is not the Mexican Independence day; it is a holiday to celebrate a military victory in Mexico.
