Last night at 8 p.m., President Barack Obama gave the third State of the Union Address of his presidency. While there were mixed reviews of his speech from the American public, controversies regarding his feelings towards immigration are not so different from 2011. During his speech he stated, “I believe as strongly as ever that we should take on illegal immigration.”
Just as in his last State of the Union in 2011, Obama repeated his belief that illegal immigration is an issue that we face. But what real results have we seen since his last speech? Last night was one of President Obama’s last chances to really affect peoples’ vote for this year’s Presidential Election and I am unsure if his address last night was enough to win him a second term in office.
This year the majority of the Coppell High School senior class will be able to participate in the voting process for the first time, but has Obama done enough to win their vote?
