Cowboys ready to take on the Hawks

    By Andy Tabor

The Coppell football team looks to have a rebound performance tonight against the Hebron Hawks.  Hebron recently lost to Flower Mound 37-30, while Coppell lost to Southlake 24-6.

Both teams need a win to stay in contention in the tightly bunched 6-5A district.  The football game starts at 7:30 at Buddy Echols field.  The Dallas Cowboys used the Coppell field Wednesday for their team practice.

The Cowboys have not beaten the Hawks ever since they started playing Coppell three years ago.  The Cowboys offense has always had trouble with the Hawks defense in the past.  Now with Joe McBride heading the Coppell defense maybe this game is the game the Cowboys break the streak.

McBride is a descendent from the Hebron coaching tree, and knows the Hebron defense inside and out.  This should help prepare the offense better than ever before.
