Many Coppell High School organizations are welcoming the holiday spirit with gift exchanges. A popular gift exchange, known most commonly as “Secret Santa“, is being used by multiple organizations. Each participant draws another participant’s name at random, and then “secretly” picks a present for them. This activity is a fun, low key way for everyone to get and give a gift, without breaking the bank. The Sidekick newspaper staff as well the yearbook staff are among the groups that are using this gift exchange to celebrate each other during the holiday season.
Another popular gift exchange is “White Elephant“. White Elephant requires everyone to bring a gift, and at the exchange, each participant chooses a number and picks their present in number order. The fun ensues when participants can choose to either pick a new gift, or steal a gift from someone who has already chosen one. This provides for lots of laughs and the perfect amount of craziness.
Celebrations such as these gift exchanging outside of school as well. Whether students celebrate through gifts, or simply spending time with one another, the upcoming weeks are a time in Coppell where many acknowledge those who are important to them.
