    Coppell beats Duncanville, stays undefeated

    By Coleman Armes

    Staff Writer

Coppell Cowboys varsity basketball took the court tonight at home against the Duncanville Panthers. Coppell, fresh off their first place finish in the Carrollton/Farmers Branch tournament, wound up beating Duncanville 56-48.

Duncanville, usually a perennial powerhouse when it comes to high school basketball, has a young team this year, but hung with Coppell throughout the game. In fact Ducanville was winning after the first quarter 15-14 and kept the game tied 25-25 at halftime.

However, the game seemed to be dominated by dunks and alley oops from Coppell senior guard Warren Oishi to Coppell senior forward Jett Raines.

Jett Raines lead the team in scoring with an impressive 32 points including three dunks. The 32 points turned out to be more than half of Coppell’s total points.

The Cowboys will look to continue their winning streak December 8-10 when they enter the Flower Mound tournament. Come ready to support!
