The Cowboys basketball team is already 9 and 0 going into their tenth regular season game tonight against Duncanville at home in the large gym at 7:30.
While the Cowboys may be on a winning streak early in the season Duncanville has proved to be a worthy opponent in the past. Not unlike our Cowboys though, the Duncanville basketball program graduated many of their starters from this past year so their team will be stacked with many underclassmen. Not only will we be playing more upperclassmen than them, we also have the size advantage. With many of our starters easily breaking through the six foot barrier, our Cowboys should have no problem forcing the ball inside to our tall post men for an easy two points.
When I talked to some of the seniors on the team today none of them seemed to concerned about their opponent tonight. In the past, our varsity team has been locked into some very close games with Duncanville but this years team has assured me that they have prepared for anything that Duncanville can throw at them.
“I’m not too scared about the game tonight because we have some really good momentum going into the game today and also Duncanville lost a lot of the talent when this past years senior graduated,” senior varsity member Jett Raines said. “Plus we have the size advantage over most teams so I think we can take care of them easily.”
