What motivated you to run for office?
I am driven by a deep belief that it is time for a transformative change. Our school board needs a leader who is not afraid to confront tough questions and challenge the status quo. We must cultivate a board that prioritizes transparency and accountability, ensuring all stakeholders feel heard and valued.
As a member of the board, I will make it my mission to foster a culture of open dialogue. Promoting honest communication enables us to build trust among members, parents, teachers and the broader community. Too often, important conversations are sidelined, leading to frustrations and misunderstandings. I am here to change that.
By providing clear and honest answers to stakeholders, we will empower our community to engage more deeply and actively in our decision-making processes. I aim to introduce innovative ideas and a fresh perspective that will foster collaboration and inspire confidence in our leadership.
Together, we can create an environment where everyone feels invested in the outcomes and direction of our district. It is time for a board that not only listens but also acts with integrity and purpose. I invite you to join me on this journey toward a brighter future for the CISD, where every voice matters, and together, we can achieve great things. Your support is crucial to making this vision a reality. Let’s make this change happen.
How has your background prepared you for this role?
I am an exceptional candidate for the Coppell ISD Board of Trustees, as I bring a diverse background and strong qualifications that are well-suited for this important role. My extensive expertise in risk management, combined with my analytical skills, enables me to identify, assess and effectively tackle complex challenges.
Between 2016 and 2023, I successfully led various business ventures focused on home restoration and home inspections in the DFW area. Through these experiences, I gained invaluable insights into the local real estate market and the community’s specific needs. This knowledge enables me to passionately advocate for all stakeholders in Coppell, ensuring their voices are heard and considered in decision-making processes.
I possess significant experience in financial oversight, which equips me to manage school budgets efficiently. I believe in maximizing resources to support educational initiatives, enhancing the learning environment for all students, and ensuring that teachers have the necessary tools to succeed in their roles.
As a dedicated parent and an active volunteer within our community, I genuinely care about the well-being and development of both students and educators. I have invested time in various community projects, collaborating with fellow parents, teachers and local organizations to create a supportive and engaging educational environment.
I am eager to bring my insights, leadership skills and commitment to service to the school board, where I can contribute to making a meaningful and positive impact in the Coppell community. Together, we can strive to create an exceptional educational experience for every student.
What are the most urgent issues facing CISD right now?
CISD must champion all students, especially those learning in English as a Second Language (ESL) and those with special needs. A strong district builds a collaborative community that empowers educators and engages families, ensuring every child can thrive. Partnerships among schools, families and community groups are essential for providing tailored support, regardless of an individual’s background or learning style.
Yet, I am deeply concerned about the projected deficits for the 2025-2026 school year and their potential impact on these vulnerable students. Historically, the largest deficits in CISD have stemmed from special needs funding, and proposed state and federal bills threaten further cuts, jeopardizing crucial resources. Declining enrollment exacerbates these financial challenges, which are further intensified by state recapture and outdated funding.
Despite these hurdles, we stand ready to rise to the occasion. The success of our attendance campaign showcases our ability to create positive change. I pledge to advocate for robust funding and resource allocation, ensuring support for ESL and special needs students is safeguarded. Furthermore, I will prioritize strategic investments in our educators and programs—areas under our control—to maintain our high educational standards.
We must also seek innovative solutions to increase revenue. Drawing from my high school experience, I would like to collaborate with stakeholders to forge partnerships with local businesses, leveraging our facilities and student talent for mutual benefit. This approach will not only generate income but also provide invaluable real-world opportunities for our students. By prioritizing their needs, we can uphold Coppell ISD’s commitment to excellence for every child.
How do you plan to address those issues?
I will prioritize strategic budget management to ensure that resources are effectively allocated to our classrooms. Investing in teachers is crucial. Currently, CISD does not participate in the Teacher Incentive Allotment program under House Bill 3, which represents a missed opportunity to reward excellence. I will work collaboratively with the district to seek approval for offering designations to National Board Certified Teachers, which will lead to significant salary increases. Notably, CISD has teachers who hold TIA designations from previous districts, underscoring the value of such recognition. I will strive to ensure that our exceptional teachers receive the designation, which will allow them access to associated salary increases.
To evaluate the effectiveness of these programs, I will gather feedback from educators, parents and students.
Additionally, I propose creating innovative partnerships with local businesses to generate revenue. These partnerships would utilize school facilities and student talent for mutual benefit, providing real-world learning opportunities while generating income.
Transparency is essential. Collaborating with educators, families and community groups will drive solutions. Data driven decision-making will guide resource allocation, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential and thrive. My commitment is to uphold the excellence of Coppell ISD, ensuring support for all students, regardless of their background or learning style.
