Fans make preparations to cheer cowgirls to victory this weekend

As the state volleyball tournament nears many students are hurrying to make plans to attend the games in San Marcos over the weekend.

After defeating the Hebron Hawks in the regional quarter- final the cowgirls continued on to play in the regional match, which was held in Abilene this past weekend. The cowgirls ended up sweeping the competition three games to zero and are now advancing to the state championship tournament being help in San Marcos this Friday and Saturday. The semi- final game will be held at 7 on Friday against San Antonio Johnson and the championship will be on Saturday at 7.

Because the first game is on Friday many students are planning on leaving Friday morning. Many of the students that will be in attendance have already scheduled their hotel rooms at local hotels and if you are planning on driving down there I would advice you to get a hotel as fast as possible. Many of the hotels in the closest vicinity to where the games are being held a completely booked because of fans from not only our school but the four other schools that are competing for the championship trophy.

On Thursday, the volleyball team will have a send-off scheduled for eleven o’clock at CHS where cowgirls will be recognized for their outstanding performance this season by the entire school as they walk down the main hall to their waiting bus. Also, be sure to support the team by buying a State t-shirt for ten dollars at all lunches through thursday.
