The Coppell DECA Marketing Club left after C-Lunch today for the American Airlines Center for a day to explore marketing in the sports world.
The Dallas Stars organization hosted a seminar which included guest speakers, a scavenger hunt, and tickets to last night’s game against the Florida Panthers.
This trip provided a great inside look at how marketing is evident in the realm of hard, hitting hockey. From selling group packages and suite tickets, to communicating daily schedules to players and employees alike, and even coordinating the Star’s own Ice Girls, many of the skills that are taught in an advertising course can and are used in creating a marketable image for a professional sports team.
Ms. Brandi LeBlanc’s Sports and Entertainment Marketing students also joined the DECA group.
