The Coppell High School marching band recently took home seven trophies at the 2011 Mesquite Marching Festival, including Best Band in Class 5A as well as Best Band of the Day. Following this success, this Saturday the band will be competing in the 2011 UIL Region Marching Contest.
This year the CHS band has taken a different approach to their show. This year’s show experiments with different types of marching and also includes the infamous dancing sequence. The band will be going to Duncanville to compete in the UIL Marching Contest.
“It’s not really a competition, we go to get ratings,” senior flute section leader Neha Dubey said. “It good for us to see where we stand right now and what we need to work on so we can be ready for the Bands of America contest in November.”
