With homecoming week under way, the traditional ‘theme’ days have allowed many students to show their school spirit by dressing according to each day’s theme.
This year’s homecoming theme is ‘Please Don’t Stop the Music’, and the theme days that accompany it let students express their musical tastes. Monday’s theme was ‘Wear Your Favorite Band T-shirt’ which resulted in students and teachers alike wearing a shirt honoring their favorite musical group. Today’s theme, ‘Dress Like a Pop Star’ resulted in a variety of interesting outfits, from Lady Gagas to Ke$has and 80’s pop stars.
The theme days for the rest of week include ‘Dress Like a Rock Star’ on Wednesday, ‘Dress Country’ on Thursday, and ‘School Spirit Wear’ on Friday. Students are encouraged to participate as a fun way to raise school spirit and to get involved in homecoming festivities.
Participating in theme days is not the only way to get involved during homecoming week. Grades are decorating their respective hallways after school throughout the week in preparation for the annual hallway decoration competition.
